Mergeit develops software with the intention of improving the quality of daily life IT solutions. Based on core values such as openness, integrity, enthusiasm and surplus, we intend to deliver the best thinkable software, always based on the idea of open source (OS).

As both active user of and contributer to the Open Source Community (OSC), Mergeit is the catalyst and basis for interaction between OSC and our customers. Through insight in both worlds and constant optimized products, we develop the best thinkable solutions. Thus Mergeit creates the ballance between OSC and the customer, achieving great value for everybody.
Because of the philosophy of Mergeit as the catalyst between these two elements, there will always be an actual advantages for the customer. The customer does not only buy a product as a standard one time service, but is getting a system and a great amount of feedback possibilities, which through the principles of open source are being led back to the OSC. In that way other users will also find use of the system, post feedback and help develop it even further. This means constant optimization of an easily updatable system.
In that way our costumers will have a technically high end system, created on the principles of openness, and completely based on your right to choose your supplier.
At the same time, Mergeit channels 10-20 percentage of our resources back to OSC through services and labor on different open projects. We do this because we recognize the importance of sowing seeds where we harvest, and because we would like to contribute to the ongoing thought about maintaining software developing a fun sport, driven by passionated people.
In light of the above mentioned cooperation, we believe to have secured the foundation of what we consider the best and only long term way of creating better IT: The ability to accumulate new knowledge from existing OS-software, develop it according to the needs and demands of our costumers, and returning this new knowhow to the OSC.
An open standard is a technical specification which is publicly available, and has the purpose of gaining a specific goal. By allowing everybody to use the standard, the compatibility between hardware and software components can be increased. The advantage is that everyone with a certain technical knowledge can build or programme something that works with equipment produced by another company.
This secures free competition on a free market as well as makes it significantly easier to use the products in new contexts and in new ways, making full use of the desired technologies.
